Grub installs without problems, then i reboot.

the following is written there:

Error 17

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN ... WHAT CAN I DO?????

There is obviously something wrong with your boot-configuration. Error 17 means that Grub tried to access an invalid partition. You can boot into a rescue system from CD1 in order to fix this problem manually.

But please provide more information: In order so solve this problem, we will need your /etc/grub.conf, the output of `fdisk -l' and the YaST2 logs which can be found under /var/log/YaST2. Please attach all these files here and give a detailed description what you did during the installation (this means: what did you select or change manually, ...). Thanks so far.

these log-files are too much so I hope this is enough ... and when I installed LINUX I didn't make any changes ...

To attach the logfiles, you can use:

`tar czvf y2logs.tar.gz /var/log/YaST2/*' and attach this file here.
