Description Lorne Shantz 2005-12-08 03:45:18 UTC
10.1 Alpha 3 installation. I was using an Intel MB #D845PEBT2, P4cpu, Pioneer DVD-ROM ATAPIModel DVD-120S, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive.

During installation, I got to the hardware configuration and it just hung. I waited 3 hours and finally did a reset. I rebooted, but it then went on as if I was done. I ended up with a lot of hardware not configured.

I am pasting the boot.msg file here in case there is any help for this bug or the previous one.

This bootlog is useless to determine the cause of the hang. Please see
http://www.opensuse.org/index.php/Bug_Reporting_FAQ#YaST what information we need.
Comment 2 Lorne Shantz 2005-12-10 04:41:51 UTC
Created attachment 60238 [details]
Y2start.log file

Help me to help you. I do not know the workings of the product enough to know what you need. There are 18 files inside of /var/log/YaST2. This one seems correct, but i'm not sure. I want to help in anyway I can.
Comment 3 Philipp Thomas 2005-12-12 11:39:31 UTC
The FAQ asks you to tar up the complete directory, so please do so:

tar -cvjf /tmp/y2logs.tar.bz2 /var/log/YaST2

And attach the resulting tarball.
Comment 4 Lorne Shantz 2005-12-14 03:25:05 UTC
Please close this. I just formatted the drive. There are way too many bugs for me to even use the damn thing and you guys all seem to have a chip on your shoulders.
