A fresh installation of Alpha4 on i386 shows in dmesg:

+  disable patches.fixes/reiserfs-close-open-transactions.diff

I have submitted a new kernel with this change.

This was the correct fix, thank you Olaf.

Jeff, please fix the close-open-transactions patch and renable them.

Updated reiserfs-close-open-transactions.diff. I mistyped in the porting of the patch from SP3 to HEAD.
