This would be indeed useful and should be rather simple to implement. On which version we could see this feature? *** Bug 157011 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Raising severity as this is a problem (see bug #157011) that could break the installation on smaller systems. As discussed in #157011, it should be made an option for the user to keep downloaded packages and if this option is not used, packages should either be deleted at once after the installation (of each package) or it should be integrated in the `free diskspace'-calculation with a warning that one might run out of space during the installation. To comment #4: "smaller systems" is wrong, the system on which it happened to me is quite big, "systems with few space left on the root FS" would have been more appropriate. To comment #5: I've reopened bug #157011, because it needs to be fixed for CODE10, whereas this feature request is very unlikely to make it into CODE10 at this point in the development cycle. |
