Oooops, this is urgently needed for SLES10 and needs proper/early testing -> increasing severity. Holger, can you do that? Tell me if you need help or a machine to test. Garry: Do we need hotpluggable CPUs to test that or can we reproduce this on a common MP system? I am able to reproduce it here on a dual core system. So I need no further machine to test and will care about. This bug identyfied another smaller issue. The callback for testing whether the machine should get throttled is even called if throttling is disabled. Will fix that too. Both issues fixed in svn. |
The powersave daemon reports warning messages when a processor is offlined. To reproduce: On a MP system execute the following command where ${D} is any cpu other than 0. echo 0 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu${D}/online Then tail /var/log/messages to view warning message
