did you install the update? I don't think so. My systems says I have "dragonegg-0.1-4" from main distribution. I did not find any update. I did not yet switch to the 10.1 test versions, but I update everything available in following sources (thus KDE 3.5) and use the online update: ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/suse/i386/supplementary/misc/update_for_10.0/yast-source ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/suse/i386/supplementary/GNOME/update_for_10.0/yast-source ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/update_for_10.0/yast-source ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/misc/packman/suse/10.0 ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/suse/i386/10.0/inst-source-extra ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS/inst-source-java ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS/inst-source do you have kpdf installed? there was a crash when kpdf was installed but couldn't be loaded. did you get an output on command line if started from a xterm? Yes, kpdf is installed. Below see a test with kpdf direct and konqueror using dragonegg (I know it is weird, but it nevertheless should work and not crash). System is current state 10.0 with all updates (KDE 3.5.1). thor:~ # kpdf en_ntrips05.pdf thor:~ # konqueror en_ntrips05.pdf ASSERT: "!icon.isEmpty()" in ./libkonq/konq_pixmapprovider.cc (79) ASSERT: "!icon.isEmpty()" in ./libkonq/konq_pixmapprovider.cc (79) NPP_SetWindow original_x_errhandler: (nil) NPP_SetWindow KCrash: Application 'nspluginviewer' crashing... kio (KDirWatch): WARNING: KDirWatch::removeDir can't handle '/etc/samba/smb.conf' kio (KDirWatch): WARNING: KDirWatch::removeDir can't handle '/etc/security/fileshare.conf' kio (KDirWatch): WARNING: KDirWatch::removeDir can't handle '/etc/exports' hmm, can you reproduce the crash without the supplementary update? This is pretty fragile, and I guess it doesn't work because of dragonegg being compiled against KDE 3.4, but KDE 3.5 being installed. Seems to work with konqueror. Firefox does not crash, but shows the pdf files as totally empty page. Thought this may also be result from switching to another computer system (which has a plain 10.0 installation). I will not downgrade my other systems. Would it be possible to add correct KDE RPM-requirements to dragonegg and also add it to supplementary KDE? we put everything online we have but only test them on latest release - and that is 10.1 by now. So we won't put more efforts into it, but you're invited to suggest a fix. I will test it with 10.1 as soon as I switch one of my machines and reopen the bug if it becomes necessary. |
