Description Dirk Stoecker 2005-12-21 16:20:59 UTC
Whenever the dragonegg plugin to use the KDE functionality from other browsers gets activated on my machines (different ix86 systems), it crashs immediately.

The crash also happens, when konqueror uses dragonegg (which is somewhat strange, but should not crash). This behaviour seems to be default for DVI files.
Comment 1 Dirk Mueller 2005-12-21 16:28:03 UTC
did you install the update?
Comment 3 Dirk Mueller 2006-02-15 08:38:00 UTC
do you have kpdf installed? there was a crash when kpdf was installed but couldn't be loaded. did you get an output on command line if started from a xterm?

Comment 4 Dirk Stoecker 2006-02-17 11:17:37 UTC
Yes, kpdf is installed. Below see a test with kpdf direct and konqueror using dragonegg (I know it is weird, but it nevertheless should work and not crash).
System is current state 10.0 with all updates (KDE 3.5.1).

Comment 5 Dirk Mueller 2006-03-08 13:47:12 UTC
hmm, can you reproduce the crash without the supplementary update? This is pretty fragile, and I guess it doesn't work because of dragonegg being compiled against KDE 3.4, but KDE 3.5 being installed.
Comment 6 Dirk Stoecker 2006-03-08 14:24:59 UTC
Seems to work with konqueror. Firefox does not crash, but shows the pdf files as totally empty page.

Thought this may also be result from switching to another computer system (which has a plain 10.0 installation). I will not downgrade my other systems.

Would it be possible to add correct KDE RPM-requirements to dragonegg and also add it to supplementary KDE?

we put everything online we have but only test them on latest release - and that is 10.1 by now. So we won't put more efforts into it, but you're invited to suggest a fix.
Comment 8 Dirk Stoecker 2006-05-09 09:55:19 UTC
I will test it with 10.1 as soon as I switch one of my machines and reopen the bug if it becomes necessary.
