Since there are file conflicts for kernel-syms/kernel-<flavor> external kernel modules cannot be built any longer. # neededforbuild kernel-binary-packages kernel-source kernel-syms [...] # build [...] installing kernel-smp-2.6.15_rc6-2 Setting up /lib/modules/2.6.15-rc6-2-smp installing kernel-syms-2.6.15_rc6-2 file /boot/symsets-2.6.15-rc6-2-bigsmp.tar.gz from install of kernel-syms-2.6.15_rc6-2 conflicts with file from package kernel-bigsmp-2.6.15_rc6-2 init_buildsystem failed.
