We will discuss this in the X team. I think it is usefull to have at least a minimal dialog for setting up the synaptics touchpad driver. The Synaptic Touchpads are part of most IBM/Lenovo Thinkpads. Looks like a large user group can be happy with at least a minimal dialog. It seems not only usefull but also nessesary. Without the configuration file otherwise has to be edited manually, but it contains a big warning not to do so since sax generates it automatically. Any changes may be lost. *** Bug 164747 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 179966 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 179966 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Talked to Stefan Seyfried about this issue.
