Description Alexander Usov 2005-12-28 02:32:11 UTC
While reading tags from the mp3 files (probably the same happens to ogg, I don't have any of these) amarok prefers id3v1 tag. This causes problems with very long song titles.

As a test case -- try to set a very long tag for one of the mp3's and then rescan the collection. Amarok reads in the short version, while both kfile
and juk show the correct (long) title.

did you report to amarok developers at bugs.kde.org?
Comment 2 Alexander Usov 2006-02-06 12:55:55 UTC
I planned to, but it seems that in svn version this was already fixed in a
(semi-)complete rewrite of tag handling.

I can not reproduce the issue. I took a test mp3, called

id3v2 -2 -a "the id3v2 album taggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg"

on it, verified with "-l" that it now has both v1 and v2 tags, and amarok 10.0 (no updates installed) happily used the v2 tag.
