With "definitions", you mean drivers, firmware? Or hwconfig/ifconfig files? Ans: Drivers and firmware files. With V10 the system automatically scanned the computer listing all installed cards. This is not happening with v10.1 Alpha 4. i.e. it does not recognise the installed in-built Atheros wireless card. Consequently the driver files are not configured. Yast2 is not finding the card if a post install scan is performed. The driver for Atheros cards contains binary-only code and is therefore not included in openSUSE. You need to download and install the kernel-default-nongpl (or maybe kernel-smp-nongpl) package from ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/10.1/... to get your card running. |
