Description David Ward 2006-01-08 06:55:42 UTC
I have a few logs thats include stdout and strace from tuxracer and UnrealTournament 2004 but cant see anywhere on this page to "attach" or upload them. All other games that work fine in Mandriva and Gentoo, for example, have errors loading due to sound. E.G. Call of Duty complains the Miles Sound system didnt load (it runs through Cedega emulation). I am guessing Call of Duty run on Cedega just hooks into OpenAL.

This only happens on SuSe. I would simply re-install if this had hope to solve this, but as this is only a few weeks old install.

What is your hardware?
Comment 4 David Ward 2006-01-11 10:58:06 UTC
Yeah that would be a smart piece of info to include.

Motherboard: Epox 8rda+ Ver1.0
Chipset: nForce2
VGA: Nvidia 6600GT

I might try similiar setup, same games, different system ??

The strace output would be helpful to track down the problematic ioctl parameters.

Ok, does this help.

Output from mplayer when playing anything with audio

"[AO OSS] audio_setup: driver doesn't support SNDCTL_DSP_GETOSPACE :-(
[AO OSS]
*** Your audio driver DOES NOT support select() ***
 Recompile MPlayer with #undef HAVE_AUDIO_SELECT in config.h !"

Fixed for 10.1-rc1.
