Description Ioannis Manoloudis 2006-01-09 11:41:38 UTC
Greetings and happy new year.
Back in the era of SuSE 5.2 I can recall that KDE was part of the distribution. It wasn't stable and if I opted it for installation, yast would display a message stating that it wasn't a stable release.
I think that there should be a similar early addoption of KDE 4.0. As it is thought to revolutionalise Linux on the desktop, early development versions should be included. It shouldn't be included in a default installation and it should coexist with stable KDE 3.5.x. If development version of KDE 4.0 are compiled and packed with SuSE then it will be much helpful for many users, such as myself, to use it, test it and submit bugs.

Before 2007 it will be useless for KDE if you test binary packages. If you want to help, get down and compile from sources with debug options.
