Description Jan Engelhardt 2006-01-11 17:52:29 UTC
I think that $named should be under Should-Start: rather than Required-Start: in /etc/init.d/squid.
Comment 1 Klaus Singvogel 2006-01-11 18:02:25 UTC
No, I don't think so.
I think it doesn't make sense to start a webservice, and only having an optional named service running. How should www.suse.de be translated, if no named is running?
If we have $named only running optional, we might get more bugreports by our customers. I want to avoid this: WONTFIX

If you have a good argument, why we should make it optional: reopen bug and explain by a good, realistic example.
Comment 2 Jan Engelhardt 2007-07-22 09:50:57 UTC
Why should the Squid server have to run named? It can use /etc/resolv.conf.

Outch. I think I misunderstood situation.
Thanks, will fix it.
