Description Forgotten User 2Xrp_Q7k_A 2006-01-15 15:06:04 UTC
The man page fd(4) lists floppy device names that do not correspond to current devices in the SUSE distribution. (One needs to deciver those device names for proper low-level formatting.)

Proposal: One can enhance it by a sentence that tells that the fd?u* devices are the same as the fd?[DH]* devices.

Thanks for the report.

fd(4) is part of the man-pages package and the issue somehow depends on the devs package. Will one of you kernel guys please report it upstream or fix our manpage?

10.1 is still affected.
Comment 3 Thorsten Kukuk 2006-01-17 12:09:08 UTC
man pages are generic, not specific for one product/release.
