Description Brady McEwen 2006-01-20 19:44:18 UTC
Trying to install the SUSE-10.0-EvalDVD-x86_64-GM.iso on a Compaq V2000 Laptop. System is running an AMD Turion 64. Checked md5sums and all is fine. When I boot into the DVD I get the installlation screen, when I choose any of the installation options it says loading Linux kernal. Once it gets to 100% the screen goes blank and after a few seconds the cd-rom spins down and nothing else happens, thats all I can get it to do.

How can this be a bug of the installer if the installer doesn't even start because the kernel hangs?
Comment 2 Lars Marowsky-Bree 2006-01-24 10:50:42 UTC
Please try booting with the failsafe options and in textmode, and if possible, getting into the rescue system.

acpi=off or =force may also be options.

If you get a kernel oops on the console, please attach it to this bugzilla. if you make it into the rescue system, please attach the output from running hwinfo.

Thanks -
