Description Forgotten User 7L3tOtZIov 2006-01-21 15:35:29 UTC
My Wintv-PVR card is nicely recognised, yet gives an error 'Cannot
start WinTC-PVR 350' during the installation.
Comment 1 Martin Lasarsch 2006-01-23 12:00:37 UTC

ivtv is not available for installation. A search in YaST and in ARCHIVES.gz showed up empty. Also no rpm found that contains that name.
Comment 4 Michael Gross 2006-01-23 14:15:17 UTC
hou: ivtv is contained on the DVD only (this might have either license- or disk space reasons). You should be able to retrieve it using a repository, though.
Comment 5 Forgotten User 7L3tOtZIov 2006-01-23 14:36:24 UTC
During the installation, there is no way of adding a repository. It is during the installation I get the errors.

(And the name is houghi, not just hou. The site forced a first and last name. ;-)
Comment 6 Martin Lasarsch 2006-01-23 17:08:35 UTC
there is no way this will work during installation, because the ivtv driver need a firmware which is not included (there is a script for easy installing it).

sorry about my statement first if its installed, i thought it's also included on CD.

anyway, i will assign this to the yast2-tv maintainer, there should be a requester when the driver or firmware is not installed.

pinging
Comment 8 Ted Bullock 2006-03-26 06:27:09 UTC
Just installed Beta 8 and encountered this problems as well.
Comment 9 Forgotten User 7L3tOtZIov 2006-04-14 22:54:35 UTC
10.1 RC1 still has the same problem. ivtv RPM's are not on CD1-5 wich makes it even harder to get working.
Comment 10 Ted Bullock 2006-04-14 23:12:31 UTC
Can we expect a resolution to this before 10.1 is released?
Comment 11 Ladislav Slezák 2006-04-19 11:15:17 UTC
Sorry, it's too late to fix it in 10.1.
Comment 12 Forgotten User 7L3tOtZIov 2006-06-07 03:37:04 UTC
10.1 is out. Will it be possible to get it into 10.2?
Comment 13 Ted Bullock 2006-06-20 17:42:42 UTC
What is the response to the question in comment 12?
Comment 14 Forgotten User 7L3tOtZIov 2006-07-17 16:57:38 UTC
No change for 10.2 Alpha 2.

Comment 16 Ted Bullock 2006-11-26 05:42:40 UTC
Any news on this bug for 10.2? It's been a while since a developer has responded.
Comment 17 Ted Bullock 2007-02-08 22:45:43 UTC
Again, is there any news on this bug for 10.2?
Comment 18 Ted Bullock 2007-02-24 08:19:24 UTC
Alright, the firmware is now available for re-distribution under a license from hauppauge very similar to the Intel firmware license.

Now is it possible to have it included in the 10.3 distribution with a click through mechanism on the license?
