Description dante bly 2006-01-25 04:50:23 UTC
When trying to plug in a USB pen drive and trying to read it I get the following error:

mount: according to mtab, /dev/sda1 is already mounted on /media/usbdisk
mount failed

The same error is reported when I try to use the dvd rom.

This error also occurs on my Dell D610 laptop.

On Desktop or on console
Comment 2 dante bly 2006-01-26 14:48:14 UTC
On the desktop. When I plug in a USB flash drive, a window pops up saying "A new medium has been detected. What do you want to do?"
Medium type: Unmounted Removable Medium

When I click "Open in new Window", I get the error mentioned in the original post. I'm also unable to mount the DVD-ROM.
