I tried to run icewm in Beta1 on two machines.

On an i586 with WINDOWMANAGER=icewm startx, it crashed with SEGV so I got back to the console.
On a x86_64 I tried from GDM and there it got stuck with only the background photo. A look in the process list revealed icewm-session trying to run icewm over and over with no success.

Let me know if you would like a backtrace etc.
