'ftp' seems to be a compatibility command to make lftp compatible with lukemftp. But it does not work as expected. The '-a' option should connect as anonymous to the server given as parameter, but instead of that it asks for username/password:

czanik@pegasos:~> ftp -a roxen.integrity.hu
Wrapper for lftp to simulate compatibility with lukemftp

It is already fixed in stable.
I am closing this bug as fixed.
