Description Kirk Coombs 2006-01-27 19:08:47 UTC
I have an Atheros-based D-link card. It is not detected in beta2 by either YaST or NetworkManager. I noted that one of the most annoying bugs for alpha3 involved not having support for Atheros cards, with a workaround (see http://tinyurl.com/b7dtv).

I noticed in beta2 that the step to add a line to /etc/udev/rules.d/31-net_create_names.rules has been done, but that the ath_pci kernel module does not exist!

I will attach the output from 'hwinfo --netcard' and my YaST logs to the bug report.

Please install the package kernel-default-nongpl
which provides the non GPL module ath_pci.

I suppose this `fixes' the problem? Kirk, please reopen this bug if you think otherwhise.
