Laptop Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pro V2000. Also have problem with ipw-firmware on SuSe 10.1 Beta 1 Can you please be more precise about what happens? How far does it get when you reboot? Can you see the grub menu? When the grub menu appears, then press 'esc', and continue with the text menu. What happens then? ok I have amd 64 itreid 64 bit cd it did not work did not go anywhere after the first screen of grub(where its says boot from hard disk, install form cd,and safe install etc),when i click install from cd(because I have to install it) the computer looks liks its working doing something for a while but eventually stop with blank screen(black screen in about 30 seconds). Now herez the thing i installed with 32 bit cd and it installs.no problem.I tried installing(64 bit) text way, and with generic vesa driver still not working,I have suse 10.0 32 bit installed now without any hesitation, suse 10.0 64 bit would not install on my laptop either.now i dont know how to send u information about the hardware,if u let me know I'll send it asap. I have laptop: amd turon 64 ml 32 128 mb(shared) ati redon 200m igp 512 ddr ram Created attachment 71861 [details]
hardware info
this is my laptop's hardware info.
1.So, you can do the first step of installation, but after reboot it hangs, right? (according to the description) 2. Or can't you install at all? (according to comment #3) Can you please change to text mode during booting, to see where it hangs. Beta2 is quite old, there have been some modifications, specially on these ATI boards. Best is you wait for Beta8 and try again. I guess I'll have to wait for beta 8 and yes it dont install at all even in the text mode or generic vesa driver the 64 bit. Any news on this? No reaction -> resolving as invalid. Feel free to reopen with log files. |
