checking sysconfig now *** Bug 147681 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Ugh, I don't think it's resolved. I use traditional method, yet I see the icon for Network Manager in tray. Actually I don't see any icon, just a space. When right-clicking the space I see that it belongs to Network Manager. beta3 do you have this in your rpm changelog of Networkmanager-kde ?
