Description denis forveille 2006-01-29 15:34:11 UTC
With OSS 10.1 b2, on my x86_64 system, my logitech quickcam pro 4000 is perfectly identified and recognized by the os (lsusb is correct), however, there is no picture when i try to use it (via, kopete, gnomemeeting or amsn...).
After installing the latest pwc driver, it now works

In details, i downloaded the latest "pwc" driver from there: http://www.saillard.org/linux/pwc/files/ and installed it as describe here
http://www.saillard.org/linux/pwc/INSTALL.en
Basically:
- compile the module
- replace the pwc.ko module in /lib/module
- restart X

This is something for the kernel-maintainers to take into consideration (maby the module should be replaced or added as an option?).
