Description Christian Boltz 2006-01-29 19:32:35 UTC
I have a Acer TravelMate 803 laptop with synaptics touchpad.

When the ksynaptics package is installed, the touchpad doesn't work (no mouse move, no clicking - simply nothing).

After uninstalling ksynaptics and logging in again, the touchpad works.

(IIRC there was a similar issue with 10.0 - a ksynaptics upgrade solved the problem, but I can't find this report for now :-( )

to be checked for 10.1 - Christian, I wouldn't mind if you dig a bit further

I cannot reproduce with Beta2 on HP OmniBook XE3.
There are two parts of ksynaptics, you might want to try uninstalling, logging into KDE and trying which one or if both of "kcminit ksynaptics" and "syndock" cause the problems.
But I think this is kernel or X issue and not KDE.

I had the problem with beta2. I just installed beta3 and the problem is gone there.

we also tested here and couldn't find an issue. please reopen when more details are there.

I don't know what you have changed, but in beta3 ksynaptics works as expected :-)
