Description Joop Boonen 2006-01-30 14:55:35 UTC
When let YaST2 install the printer during the installation process. It looks like something goes wrong. It says it's a Laserjet 5p which is correct. But i looks like it sends a ps testpage directly to the printer. So it looks like it handles this printer as Laserjet 5MP.

The scanned output of the laserjet.
Comment 2 Michael Gross 2006-01-30 16:01:51 UTC
So I suppose the 5MP is the postscript-printer and the 5M is a GDI printer?
Please provide `hwinfo --printer' and the yast logfiles in /var/log/YaST2.
Comment 3 Joop Boonen 2006-01-30 19:53:23 UTC
The Laserjet 5P is a no postscript it works with the HP laserjet protocol. The 5MP is a Laserjet 5P with a postscript module.

I wanted to attach the /var directory. But it's to big.

No it also doesn't work in RC2.

Can be solved by choosing:

HP LaserJet 5P Foomatic/hpijs (manufacturer-PPDs/
or
HP LaserJet 5P Foomatic/ljet4 (recommended) (HP/L

instead of:
HP LaserJet 5MP Postscript (recommended) (manufac
