Description Alexander Lavrinenko 2006-02-02 06:53:25 UTC
Hello,

I'm unable to use S/MIME in KMail. I've created key pair with KGpg and I can choose them to sign messages in kmail settings: "settings->configure kmail->profiles->choose profile and press modify->encryption->OpenPGP sign key (and OpenPGP encrypt key)->change" opens window where my newly generated key is available. But if I press 'choose' for "S/MIME sign cert" and "S/MIME encrypt cert" (located just below OpenPGP fields in the same tab), I get empty window opened.

S/MIME is enabled in "settings->configure kmail->security->crypto modules" tab (checkbox named 'S/MIME (gpgsm)' is checked).

Is the empty window the KDE GPG log viewer?

I'm looking into it.

KGpg can't create S/MIME keys. You need to get them from a Certification Authority.

Just enabling the S/MIME functionality in KMail doesn't give you a key.
