Description m. bracher 2006-02-04 20:37:18 UTC
It would be nice when the initial keyboard layout is derived from the timezone, e.g. :
timezone keyboard layout
------------- ---------------
Europe/Berlin German
Europe/Zurich German(Swiss)
Europe/Geneva German(french)

I think most users have a "local" keyboard and not a us-keyboard.

example was wrong, correct is:
Europe/Berlin German
Europe/Zurich German(Swiss)
Europe/Geneva French(Switzerland)

Currently nitial keyboard layout is based on language, so you should have at least German/French keyboard when you chose one of these languages at the beginning. Taking time zone in the process might be a good idea, but the question is what keyboard layout should be used at the time between language and time zone selection.

Stano, please make a feature from this one.

We will not implement this request and stay on keyboard layout based on the language with single dialog as presented in openSUSE 11.0.
