Stefan, I hope you are the right person for the propietry graphics drivers packages. I'm afraid this won't still happen for 10.0 (hopefully it will for 10.1). Better use the manual installtion instructions for now. --> http://www.suse.de/~sndirsch/ati-installer-HOWTO.html *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 127520 *** Then the release notes should be changed, i.e., the statement that the proprietary ATI drivers are available via YOU should be removed. Ok. Reopen. Karl, could you remove this section from 10.0 release notes? Thanks. <!-- bug 116767 --> <sect3 id="ati_fglrx" status="2005-09-14"> <title>ATI Graphics Cards and the "fglrx" Graphics Driver</title> <para> For ATI graphics cards that are not supported by the open source DRI driver, we have a download solution to enable 3D suppport using a proprietary driver. The proprietary driver currently does not support "suspend to disk" or "suspend to RAM." </para> <para> You can download the ATI "fglrx" graphics driver with YaST Online Update (YOU) similarly to how the NVIDIA is handled. To install the driver, select the patch in YOU and install the driver. Then configure the driver manually with SaX2. For more information, see <filename>/usr/share/doc/packages/fglrx/README.SuSE</filename>. </para> </sect3> submitted to work. Anje, I need another SWAMPID for the 10.0 release notes. Hi Karl, this time I have for you: SWAMPID 3680 Do you like it :-) ?? I'm not that sure... ;) But is helps creating the patchinfo file: /work/src/done/PATCHINFO/release-notes.patch.box released |
