Description Harald Koenig 2006-02-06 18:35:37 UTC
CDROM boot loader nitpick:

        boot CDROM
select "boot from hard disk" but don't start it yet
        eject CD from drive
press enter (to boot from hard disk)

gives a big red button with the only option "REBOOT".

a "retry" option would be nice, is that possible / very hard / impossible ?

works for me in beta3. I will close this now, if you can test it with a later version and it will still give you a big red button, please reopen.

I've tried it again with beta-3 boot.iso -- same problem. pleae try again:

- insert CD and boot, wait for "blue screen" with boot menu from CD
- eject CD (before default action "boot from HD" starts)
- press enter to "boot from HD" (or just wait...)

gives
    boot from HD
    I/O error
    Error reading boot CD

    REBOOT

question: is it possible to get a "retry" or "restart" button here which jumps back to grub, instead of booting thrugh BIOS ?

Does not work on my machine. Might depend on the BIOS.
It's an enhancement anyway.

We are using syslinux, not nitpick btw.
Comment 5 Steffen Winterfeldt 2006-02-09 17:29:18 UTC
Just tried on two machines and both BIOSes block until I put the CD back in.
Not worth the trouble, sorry.
