Description Henryk Hecht 2006-02-07 08:24:42 UTC
s3switch as packaged in SuSE 10.0 refuses to run on some savage chipsets because the program doesn't know about the PCI IDs. The SuSE SRPM contains a patch that adds the necessary PCI IDs (in my case, for an IBM thinkpad T23 supersavage), but the patch is not applied anywhere in the %prep or %build sections of the specfile. All that's needed to correct this is a %patch macro added to the %prep section, which I added and successfully tested locally. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to the hardware, so I cannot report the exact PCI ID that was missing in my case; it was, however, included in the patch in the SRPM.

Sorry, Henryk, but the mentioned package was obviously dropped.

Thorsten: Please decide what to do here.

Nothing, the package is dropped and no longer supported.
