Duo to the missing km acpi_sony the Software chooses the acpi_asus module, whitch reports no access to brightness and so. 
The sony Module is nessesary to support Vaio Notebooks.

i doubt that the asus module is loadable on a sony, but anyway.
This is a duplicate and was fixed on 2006-02-02
