Description Jonny Rimkus 2006-02-11 16:50:57 UTC
i have updated my kernel with the YOU updater to kernel 2.6.13-15.8
after the reboot, my SATA Device isn't found anymore. with the old kernel everything worked fine. i have load all modules which semms to play a role for SATA, (i've found them with lsmod) with the command modprobe <modulname>
then i've typed this: mkinitrd this is the result:

###########################################################################
Root device: /dev/hda5 (mounted on / as ext3)
Module list: sis5513 libata sata_sis processor thermal fan jbd ext3

Kernel image:   /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.13-15.8-default
Initrd image:   /boot/initrd-2.6.13-15.8-default

Driver modules: ide-disk sd_mod sis5513 libata sata_sis processor thermal fan

Including:      klibc initramfs udev fsck.ext3

but i havent found anything in dmesg that tells me that he's found a SATA Device

dmesg shows this (you have to visit this forum because
this message would be to long if i would post the output)

dmesg => http://f24.parsimony.net/forum54930/messages/67016.htm

my motherborad is an Asrock k7s8xe+ with sis raid onboard

the SATA device is a western digital 200GB

please help me it's the third or 4th time that i've reinstalled, and got the
same problem
