Description Manuel Lemos 2006-02-11 16:58:12 UTC
The WIS chip drivers exist and work well with Plextor video capture USB devices ConvertX M402U and TV402U . The drivers are available as GPL in http://oss.wischip.com/ .
Comment 1 Greg Kroah-Hartman 2006-02-16 05:47:10 UTC
The drivers need to be upstream for us to be able to add them to our
kernel package. Or, an external km package can be created, if the
developers wish to create it.
Comment 2 Manuel Lemos 2006-02-17 15:06:37 UTC
Ok, can you tell me more about what exactly you would need to get from the developers to integrate this driver package, so I can ask that from them?
Comment 3 Chris L Mason 2006-02-17 18:44:33 UTC
It would be far better if the developers sent their driver upstream. We would much rather avoid a SUSE/Novell specific package. They can just submit for review to the linux-kernel list.

Closing old LATER+REMIND bugs as WONTFIX - if you still plan to work on it, feel free to reopen and set to ASSIGNED.

In case the report saw repeated reopen comments, it's due to bugzilla timing out on the huge request ;(
