Description Rachelle Shepherd-Dubey 2006-02-12 19:53:44 UTC
When I change from the standard choice to another partition for the root partition. The screen freezes- the watch spins but nothing happens. I chose either a partition in the extended partition ( hda12) or a [artition on the slave ide disk ( hdb2). I had one point where I chose the defaults - it also failed. Standard processor Socket 478 1.8 Ghz, 250 GB Western Digital IDE disk, 2nd disk 80 GB WD IDE. SOyo Firedragon Ultra motherboard, 512 MB Ram. Nvidia AGP Video.
No Problems installing SUSE 10 on the same disks.

Apt-get dist-upgrade on the partitions fails to mount the root partition after reboot. Complaints of a loop between I did discover the lack of udevstart.
Complaints in upgrade. I have the full upgrade process file is in a file.

Problem noted:
Still no boot of 10.1insserv: Warning, current runlevel(s) of script `boot.udev' overwrites defaults.

rules created as /etc/udev/rules.d/30-net_persistent_names.rules.rpmnew
insserv: There is a loop between service boot.localfs and boot.udev

Could be the fontconfig bug. Please wait for beta4 and try this again. If it still does not work, please reopen it.
