Description Dave Klemer 2006-02-16 18:00:00 UTC
I have a laptop with a WiFi/Blutooth card. After a lot of fiddling I got the bluetooth to work. It will intermittantly hang for times ranging from 1 to 10 seconds(usually at the most anoying times). This problem exists in Suse 10.0 as well. Here are some log entries:

linux klogd input: Bluetooth HID Boot Protocol Device as /class/input/input83
linux hidd[2207] New HID device 00:0A:3A:06:9B:0A (HIDEngine BT-Mouse)
linux klogd input: Bluetooth HID Boot Protocol Device as /class/input/input84
linux hidd[2207] New HID device 00:0A:3A:06:9B:0A (HIDEngine BT-Mouse)

These entries repeat at times from 30 seconds apart to several minustes appart.

Please attach more lines of your syslog (~300).
Furthermore, give more information about your hardware (`hwinfo --bluetooth').

Please don't inline larger log fragments (>50 lines), use the attachement-feature of bugzilla instead.

Stefan: Something for you? If not, assign it back to us.
Comment 4 Stefan Behlert 2006-02-21 13:07:32 UTC
Hard to say what's the problem. It looks like the mouse is constantly reconnecting, which is very strange.
Can you please install the bluez-hcidump package and attachthe output of
hcidump -X
(e.g. with "hcidump -X > /tmp/log.txt") ?
You don't need to run hcidump long, just two or three "hangs" are enough.
Please give also the output of
hcitool info <bdaddr>
where <bdaddr> is the Bluetooth-address of your mouse.
Thanks.

A short update: No idea why the mouse is constantly reconnecting. Can you retry with a newer beta? Some fixes got into the usb/bluetooth-system that might help here.
Comment 7 Dave Klemer 2006-04-05 06:07:49 UTC
I tried Beta 9. It is better tha it was. It happens less and for shorter periods of time. It isn't quite right yet.

Comment 8 Stefan Behlert 2006-06-08 09:54:09 UTC
Thansk, no idea until now, and I didn't manage to reproduce it with some different mice here. I keep on trying nevertheless.
Comment 10 Stefan Behlert 2006-10-18 13:10:02 UTC
Seife, have you checked this with 10.2 and the new BT subsystem there?
Comment 11 Forgotten User ZhJd0F0L3x 2006-10-18 13:51:24 UTC
The bt mouse i have here works fine, even in the presence of Wireless LAN.
Reopen if the problems persist with 10.2.
