Description peter czanik 2006-02-19 09:25:11 UTC
The scroll-lock button does not work when using Xorg on a Pegasos PPC machine. The indicator light does not change, and there is no effect of the button, for examle terminal output does not pause, if scroll-lock is pushed.

Could you attach /etc/X11/xorg.conf, /var/log/Xorg.0.log and the output of xev when you press Scroll-Lock? Thanks.

xorg.conf

The only thing changed from the original is to correct the BusID bug:
czp:/etc/X11 # diff xorg.conf xorg.conf~
104c104
< BusID "PCI:1@0:8:0"
---
> BusID "PCI:1@1:8:0"

Nothing obviously I can see. BTW, the Scroll-Lock LED doesn't work for me as well (i386). But I must admit that I never use Scroll-Lock anyway. Just downgraded xkeyboard-config to the version of 10.0, which didn't help. So this can't be the problem.
Comment 6 peter czanik 2006-02-21 09:39:19 UTC
It worked fine with i386 beta2, but I just looked at beta4, and it does not work any more. I sometimes use it instead of ^s to halt terminal output...
Comment 7 Stefan Dirsch 2006-02-21 09:49:09 UTC
In case you still have the Beta2 media available, could you do a
"rpm --changelog -qp "xorg-x11-<whatever>.rpm" and attach the output?
This would make it easier for me. Unfortunately we don't keep the old Beta media. :-(
Comment 8 peter czanik 2006-02-21 10:02:08 UTC
Sorry, I don't have it any more. Just deleted two days ago :-( My compaq notebook had beta2 running until yesterday and tested scroll lock on that, when reporting that it does not work on PPC.
Comment 9 Stefan Dirsch 2006-03-18 22:05:35 UTC
Still broken with Beta >= 8?
Comment 10 peter czanik 2006-03-22 19:29:58 UTC
Tested on factory from 22 03 2006: scroll-lock light does not work, but it works correctly, eg: with scroll lock enabled Konsole scrolls window content instead of browsing through history.
Comment 11 Stefan Dirsch 2006-03-22 21:32:58 UTC
Thanks for the status update!
Comment 12 Gerald Pfeifer 2006-04-20 22:21:57 UTC
If it's only the light which does not work, do we want to close this as
RESOLVED, or keep it as minor?
Comment 13 Stefan Dirsch 2006-04-21 03:46:07 UTC
Better keep it as minor. Something is still broken ...
Comment 14 Stefan Dirsch 2006-09-01 15:58:44 UTC
Ok. I found a machine, where Scroll Lock LED works. Closing as fixed.
