There is no icon displayed for System -> Desktop Applet -> Resolution Switcher
Comment 1 Bill Cavalieri 2006-02-25 12:00:33 UTC
Icon also missing in Panel.
Comment 2 JP Rosevear 2006-02-27 21:06:54 UTC
Does it show up if you run SuSEconfig ?
Comment 3 Jon Nelson 2006-02-28 03:52:52 UTC
Yes! I ran SuSEconfig (not sure on capitalization) but now it appears in both places!
Comment 4 JP Rosevear 2006-02-28 04:41:21 UTC
In NLD 10 Beta 4 the install did not complete properly, so it may not have been run, but this is SL 10.1. CC'ing the yast team for insight.
Comment 5 Martin Vidner 2006-02-28 15:21:55 UTC
There is no yast help if you do not give us the logs :-)

You may as well grep them for suseconfig yourself.
Comment 6 Jon Nelson 2006-03-01 18:40:24 UTC
I have since reinstalled to perform tasks for other bugs.
I will try to do a wipe and reinstall tonight and look for this bug, perhaps it is fixed in beta 5?
Comment 7 JP Rosevear 2006-03-02 01:46:03 UTC
SuSEconfig should complete fine there. Please let us know.
Comment 8 Jon Nelson 2006-03-03 03:17:28 UTC
I just did a complete wipe and reinstall of 10.1 beta 5, gnome desktop. The icon does not appear. I logged out, ran SuSEConfig (sp?), and logged back in. The icon did appear this time and thereafter.

:-(

I'll give beta 6 a shot as soon as I can get the deltas.

Comment 9 Jon Nelson 2006-03-05 01:58:10 UTC
This remains unfixed in beta 6.
Comment 10 Stanislav Brabec 2006-03-06 15:51:09 UTC
The icon exists only as hicolor directory. I guess that it is not legal and the icon should exist in /opt/gnome/share/pixmaps, too.

Pleace confirm: Copy the resapplet.svg to /opt/gnome/share/pixmaps and run SuSEconfig. It should fix the problem.
Comment 11 Stanislav Brabec 2006-03-06 17:54:06 UTC
The same problem fixed for sound-juicer. It additionally complains about:

sbrabec@hammer:~> sound-juicer

(sound-juicer:29185): Gtk-WARNING **: Error loading icon from file '/opt/gnome/share/pixmaps/sound-juicer.png':
Failed to open file '/opt/gnome/share/pixmaps/sound-juicer.png': No such file or directory
