Description Silviu Marin-Caea 2006-02-20 11:57:54 UTC
I did a beta4 network installation (ftp). No DHCP server, I have specified
the IP with hostip=192..../24

I have set the hostname and the installation completed as usual.

But after booting the hostname was "192".

Setting it again with YaST fixed it.

OK then this seems to be no DHCP-related problem.
Please attach the yast logfiles in bug #151914

Installation was done on Feb 19th.

Martin: Can you check that?
Please notice that bug #151914 addresses the same problem.
Comment 5 Silviu Marin-Caea 2006-02-27 23:12:25 UTC
The bug is in beta5 too.

I have set the hostname to "silviu", then later in the installation I went to edit the network settings. Hostname was set to 192.168.1.xxx. I have changed that and it was ok after installation was completed. I guess the routines around the new screen that asks for hostname are not quite done.

fixed in yast2-network-2.13.28
