Description Danny Al-Gaaf 2006-02-20 16:23:05 UTC
After installation process finished and kdm try to start, KDM or the X Server hangs up. htdiag need on this machine some minutes nearly 80-100 % CPU. I see in KDM only a black screen and the clock.

On console 1 I saw a messages about LCD and CRT, but I can't find the message in /var/log/messages. After nearly 8 or 10 Minutes X started again could correct startup.

Comment 2 Danny Al-Gaaf 2006-02-20 18:29:52 UTC

Comment 4 Stefan Dirsch 2006-02-20 21:41:48 UTC
Attach /etc/X11/xorg.conf and /var/log/Xorg.0.log.*
Comment 5 Danny Al-Gaaf 2006-02-28 17:01:06 UTC
I checked this with beta5 and the start of X and kdm works now on this machines.

I taked a look at htdig. It runs also on beta5 with 50-100 % of CPU after the installation. And this more than 33 minutes of CPU time on a FSC ST502x with 512 MB RAM and a Pentium M 1.1GHz LV (then the process restart with the same CPU usage). This is to much. I will use the system and not wait more than a hour to use the machine.

I think htdig was called by susehelpindex. I reassign this to Will Stephenson

Fixed for next beta.
