Description michel munnix 2006-02-28 18:08:49 UTC
Firefox being open, after switching to text console (ctrl-alt-F1) and then switching back to X (ctrl-alt-F7 or alt-F7), a Firefox popup titled "Carret Browsing" appears whith the following text: "Pressing F7 turns Caret Browsing on or off. This feature places a moveable cursor in web pages, allowing you to select text whith the keyboard. Do you want to turn Caret Browsing on?"

I can reproduce this. Somehow the F7 from Ctrl-F7 gets through to Firefox. That might be X related?

I cannot reproduce this.

I only get KeyPress events for Ctrl and Alt, and (after switching back to X) KeyRelease events for these keys. You can try that yourself by starting xev, and switching to a different VT while this window has the focus.

What window manager do you use (both of you)? Please attach /etc/X11/xorg.conf
