Description Forgotten User 1B2YM7bvlc 2006-03-02 14:05:59 UTC
Switching back from console mode to X server blurs the screen. the same when booting system after hibernation.

Solution is simple. In /etc/X11/xorg.conf setting up video ram size and lower the default resolution from default 24 to 16. Switching back takes 2 seconds longer but works fine.

P.S. It exists since SUSE 10.0. 9.3 is free of that.

Could you also attach logfile of nonworking Xserver configuration, i.e. with color depth 24 and Videoram line commented out? Thanks.
Comment 7 Forgotten User 1B2YM7bvlc 2006-03-02 14:56:08 UTC
When screen goes blur (no matter console or X server) the system seems to be working. As it is not usable I simple reboot it. I'm enclosing the log.

Xorg.0.log 2

Just in case: I booted in init 3 and copied it.

Sure, that you need the Videoram line also for 16bit?
Comment 10 Forgotten User 1B2YM7bvlc 2006-03-02 15:20:45 UTC
Without Videoram line at 16bit runs OK.
Comment 11 Stefan Dirsch 2006-03-02 15:23:46 UTC
Thanks. I think we should configure 16bit as default as we did before 10.0.
Comment 12 Stefan Dirsch 2006-03-03 05:04:35 UTC
fixed for Beta8.
