Description Christian Boltz 2006-03-04 12:03:42 UTC
When updating from beta3 to beta6, YaST displayed "Fertig" (complete), but still continues to install packages.

I'll attach two screenshots showing the problem - even after the second screenshot there were lots of packages installed.

My installation source is a NFS mount. (I don't know if this is relevant, but you should better know it.)

happened again when updating beta6 to beta8.

See bug 159340 for fresh logs.
Comment 5 Mauricio Teixeira 2006-03-27 14:12:33 UTC
It also happens with me when installing from beta8 CDs. CD1->CD2 ~= 25 pkgs, CD2->CD3 ~= 10 pkgs, CD3->CD4 = none.
Comment 6 Christian Boltz 2006-04-02 16:17:54 UTC
Happened again on update to beta9 :-(

Will this be fixed for RC1?
Comment 7 Christian Boltz 2006-04-14 23:27:40 UTC
problem still exists in RC1 :-(

"size" and "time" columns both showed "Fertig" (complete), but there were still more than 140 packages to install.

attachment 78590 [details] from Bug 166895 contains fresh y2logs from update to RC1.

I just updated to RC2 - and noticed that the installer does the package countdown correctly now :-)

The remaining time is sometimes more or less wrong (less in most cases - and:
I know it's nearly impossible to provide an exact remaining time). The good thing is that it displays "complete" only if the installation is really complete.

Therefore, I think this bug has been fixed in RC2 (or I had much luck while installation ;-)

@duplicates: can you please update to RC2 and report back?
Comment 13 Thomas Horsley 2006-04-25 16:45:10 UTC
I installed RC2 (x86_64) last night, and it did indeed seem to get the count
right, both count and size hitting zero at the same time it stopped reading
from the CD and asked for the next, looks like it is working.
Comment 14 Ladislav Slezák 2006-04-26 05:43:18 UTC
OK, marking as fixed
Comment 15 Christian Boltz 2006-04-30 15:40:08 UTC
Countdown in RC3 is correct also.

Thanks for (accidently? ;-) fixing this!
