When starting fbdev Xserver on a GeForce2 board screen gets blank. "vesa" and "nv" driver work fine. The fan of this board is pretty noisy and probably somewhat broken. I'll attach config and logfile.

Hmm. fbdev driver works when nv driver has been started before!

fbdev driver even still worked after pressing power off/on button. But during installation with enabled framebuffer the monitor loses its signal again. :-(

Maybe another kernel is running during/right after installation and after reboot. "Blank screen" means "no signal".

No, it's the same kernel during/right after installation and later after reboot (2.6.16-rc5-git2-2-default). So this is somewhat cryptical ...
