Description Ladislav Michnovic 2006-03-07 14:46:05 UTC
I ran text mode installation of SL 10.1 Beta 6 and my usb mouse was not detected. So I could not use the mouse during installation.
Comment 1 Michael Gross 2006-03-07 15:26:01 UTC
What does `hwinfo --mouse' say? Is the mouse detected correctly with the graphical installer?
Comment 2 Ladislav Michnovic 2006-03-07 15:28:25 UTC
 hwinfo --mouse

In Beta 4, the mouse was detected correctly. It is impossible to say if also in Beta 6. (See bug #155018.)
Comment 4 Michael Gross 2006-03-08 14:43:24 UTC
Ladislav, I suppose the YaST logs can be of assistance, also attach the output of `lshal'.

Jiri, if this is not an installation issue, assign it back to us.
Comment 9 Jiri Srain 2006-03-09 18:16:03 UTC
How do you want to use the mouse in text mode installation? NCurses interface never supported mouse....
Comment 10 Ladislav Michnovic 2006-03-10 10:32:50 UTC
Well you are right. In ncurses mouse seems to be useless. What a pitty.
But the problem is that mouse configuration did not autodetect the mouse.
None was selected. Is the autodetection of the mouse ommited in text mode?
Comment 11 Marcus Schaefer 2006-03-10 17:27:25 UTC
there is no mouse in ncurses installation because yast ncurses
cannot make use of it. in ncurses mode only the variables in
/etc/sysconfig/mouse are set for eventually use of gpm in the later
installed system
