Description Stephan Binner 2006-03-09 10:12:27 UTC
Trying to upgrade from SUSE Linux 10.0/i386 (back translated from German):

"Couldn't resolve all conflicts. You have to manually resolve them:

 Packages to update: 626
 Packages to install: 17
 Packages to delete: 0
Overall size of packages to update: 1.7 TB"

Clicking on "Packages":

"Cannot install lukemftp because it is conflicting with lftp

A conflict over lukemftp == 1.5-586 (lukemftp) requires the removal of to be installed lukemftp-1.5-586.i586

( ) do not install lukemftp
( ) do not install lftp
( ) ignore this conflict of lukemftp"

After resolving the conflict the summary then shows:

 Packages to update: 0
 Packages to install: 715
 Packages to delete: 0
Overall size of packages to update: 1.9 TB"

After clicking on "Back" and selecting same installation to upgrade again it changes to

 Packages to update: 2
 Packages to install: 25
 Packages to delete: 0
Overall size of packages to update: 174 GB"

After clicking on "Back" and selecting same installation to upgrade again it changes to

 Packages to update: 2
 Packages to install: 22
 Packages to delete: 0
Overall size of packages to update: 178.5 GB"

After clicking on "Back" and... no, I stop now here. :-)

Please attach the y2logs.
Comment 2 Will Stephenson 2006-03-09 13:58:49 UTC
I also got "1.8TB to update" in the upgrade summary page. But I didn't mess around with Back and Forward after that. When the actual installation screen came up it showed a total of 1.8GB so I assume the summary page just gets the units wrong - off by an order of magnitude?

I'll attach the y2logs when the install has finished.
Comment 3 Stephan Binner 2006-03-09 14:04:25 UTC
Renaming as there is a separate bug report (#156450) only for lukemftp.

I got 3.1 TB but when it starts to install it says 3.1 GB which migth be correct.
Is there somewhere a factor 1000 ?

Please say if you want my y2log* too.

Same issue here, 2.2TB, should be 2.2GB.

The "KDE Devel" selection wasn't marked for me on update btw.

Terabyte issue fixed in yast2-packager-2.13.41, Beta 8.

The random package count comes from Update.ycp -> Jirka (we probably need to split the bug)
Comment 14 Jiri Srain 2006-03-15 19:26:21 UTC
The package count is bug 154720.

Martin, is there anything else to be fixed? It seems to me that there is nothing left, or?
Comment 15 Martin Vidner 2006-03-16 08:14:04 UTC
Nothing left.
Comment 16 Stephan Binner 2006-03-16 12:47:50 UTC
Trying a 10.0 update with 10.1 Beta 8 today says

"Packages to update: 0
 Packages to install: 1193
 Packages to delete: 0
Overall size of packages to update: 4.1GB"

which still look to be wrong numbers to me.
Comment 17 Jiri Srain 2006-03-16 15:44:15 UTC
Yes, this is bug 154720. Nothing else left...
