I can't get my wlan nic to connect to my router using knetworkmanager. If I choose "Traditional method via ifup" in YaST NIC-module it connects fine.

The router is set up with no encryption, dhcp and an ssid which is broadcasted. 

Knetworkmanager detects the network fine, it also detects my wlan-nic, I suppose, since it offers me the option to disable it. When I click the wireless network detected by knetworkmanager it attempts to activate my nic - then hangs a bit - after a while the "activation"-pop up window disappears but my wlan connection is still stone dead.

My wlan nic is a Linksys pcmcia:

I'm using ndiswrapper for a driver:

Martin, I suspect that this is not KNetworkManager problem.  The NetworkManager log looks fine to me.

Please verify this by connecting using nm-applet (comes with NetworkManager-gnome).

Oh, this is broadcom with ndiswrapper.  The issues with this driver were fixed in beta 7.  Please upgrade!

I'm reopening this bug.

Matters have deteroriated:

As before I cannot connect with (K)Networkmanager. NM sees my network, which is running dhcp, no encryption, ssid is broadcasted. It also seems to see my device - but there is no way I can get the thing to connect - when I click the network I want to connect it says "activating.. " after a while the message box disappears again with no error. But I'm not connected, ifconfig shows no IP etc. This is all exactly the same as before.

What is making matters worse now with beta8 than before with beta6 is that now I cannot configure my wlan NIC with YaST and traditional method via. ifup. My wlan card simply does not appear - only my ethernet card does. My wlan is however present in ifconfig, iwconfig etc.

I've attached /var/log/networkmanager plus the following output: ifconfig, iwconfig, lspci, dmesg | grep ndis, ndiswrapper -l, lsmod | grep ndis, hwinfo --wlan.

Alright.  Tracking ndiswrapper bugs at bug #158892.

Please follow that bug.
