I tried to access a 10.0 installation via booting the installation DVD and then branching to 'repair system'. 
On automatic repair, the system did not find a root partition. Possible reason: the root partition is on a LVM volume.
Also the 'expert tools' and so on did not solve this problem. So, you cant repair a SuSE installation if it is on a LVM partition.

I am not sure whether we support it.

I think you should definitely - if LVM is proposed and supported for a standard installation, a rescue system without support for LVM is worthless.
