I installed SL 10.1 beta7, Gnome default system.  I added the following selections (with yast, ncurses): "XML, SGML and TeX" and "C/C++ devel".  In the end, texinfo/makeinfo got not installed.

Probably a yast (ncurses ui) problem.  Remove selections from the ncurses ui and enable the pattern feature exclusively.

Probably my fault.  I added SLES as an additional install source to the box media.  Feel free to close it as workforme or the like.
