Klaus, this is in the area of interaction between zmd, zmd-backend and rug.  Not sure where the problem is.

Same problem if I add nscd to the command line - I have no idea which requirement is not met.

zmd prints this empty message when it doesn't get anything else from the resolver helper. --> libzypp(-zmd-backend).

There seems to be a good deal more information in these logs (with the 20060312 build).  Have a look.

Hmm, its all there but somehow does not get copied to stderr.
