Description Tobias Burnus 2006-03-13 07:48:26 UTC
I think this is a Gtk+ rather than an Adobe Reader problem, since the version of Acroread didn't change between 10.0 and 10.1b*.

If one opens the printdialog and chooses a Properties one can choose the duplex printing options:
- off
- Long Edge
- Small Edge
which adds these options to the print command:
 -o Duplex=None
 -o Duplex=DuplexNoTumble
 -o Duplex=DuplexTumble

But these values seem to be ignored by CUPS. According to the CUPS manpage the following works:
 -o sides=one-sided
 -o sides=two-sided-long-edge
 -o sides=two-sided-short-edge

I believe acroread does its own printing foo. And there was a new version:

* Fri Jan 06 2006 - ghorlacher@novell.com
- New version - 7.0.5 from Adobe, updated patches to work with
  new files recieved.

Filed the bug with Adobe (LR705-BG-00003)
Comment 3 Gary Ekker 2006-10-04 15:55:36 UTC
George is this something that you can look into?
Comment 4 Martin Schröder 2006-10-09 12:01:43 UTC
A workaround: This works in kpdf.
Comment 5 Bernhard Walle 2006-12-27 19:41:32 UTC
Is it possible to specify kpdf as default print command so that no user interaction is necessary (i.e. choosing "custom")?
Comment 6 George Horlacher 2007-02-01 22:42:34 UTC
Not that I know of. There have been a lot of printing problems and they have been reported to acorbat, I expect in a future release there will be fixes for many of the problems.

mass reopening all SuSE Linux bugs that are set to REMIND+LATER to change the resolution to WONTFIX (adapting to new policy)

Closing old LATER+REMIND bugs as WONTFIX - if you still plan to work on it, feel free to reopen and set to ASSIGNED.

In case the report saw repeated reopen comments, it's due to bugzilla timing out on the huge request ;(
